OVERVIEW
Although the course is extremely practical and technical in nature, it not only leads the participant through all the tools, technologies and techniques used by attackers, but will teach the thinking, strategies and methodologies used by attackers.

Moreover, the participant will be taught ’how to fish’, rather than being ’given fish’. A major emphasis and strategic building block is that of ’challenges’. The participant is challenged to open his her mind and push the boundaries of their own creativity to find the solution to a resented problem while using the knowledge gained throughout the course in a hands-on manner. The ’challenges’ are scenarios taken from real world situations and are truly unique.

The course is designed according to the SOC (See-Security Official Curriculum). The SOC ensures that every module uses the basic guidelines and building blocks which have been designed by technical specialists in a way to pass the knowledge and experience onto the student in the best and most effective fashion.

For novice Windows administrators we recommend the ’Hacking Defined Fundamentals’ course. For experienced Windows administrators with no Linux knowledge we recommend the ’Hacking Defined Advanced’ 5 days course instead of ’Hacking Defined Experts’.

PREREQUISITES
This course is practical and of an extremely technical nature, so a good understanding of networking, security, programming, UNIX and Windows platforms is a course prerequisite.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Information security officers, system and network administrators, or anyone interested in Information Security with a technical background.

SPECIFICS
TCP/ IP (e.g. OSI Layers, IP Addressing, Subnet ting, TCP, UDP, IP, Routing, DNS)
A Basic understanding of the windows platform and its services (e.g., IIS, SQL, DNS, Exchange etc.)
